Eyewear Inspiration: Resort Wear 2012

Several weeks ago top designers participated in a "mini" fashion week displaying Resort Wear for the 2012 season.  Inspiration for designer frames (both sunglasses and prescription eyewear) are drawn directly from the clothing fashion line as a whole, and there is plenty of inspiration to go around!  Take a look at some of my favorites below:

1) Summer Whites and Geometrics

Diane von Furstenberg showing  colorful geometric fabrics.  Check out the exaggerated rectangular sunglasses.  Not for me, but geometric frame shapes are definitely a major trend.

2) Vibrant and Unexpected Color Pairings

Derek Lam shows us that orange goes with a lot more colors than one might expect

Wanting to bring those tropical brights to your eyewear? Derek Lam is so kind to offer these lovely orange frames (Derek Lam 201 shown here) to compliment his clothing line.

3) Simple Sophisticate

Jason Wu shows us that simple, clean lines never go out of style.

You have to have a great pair of sunglasses to go with your resort wear, right?  Above are Valentino in a lovely summer white and subtle, simple detailing.
